Airbus A380-861 MSN135, Emirates A6-EEF, operating the Dubai – Sydney sector of EK412 Dubai – Sydney – Auckland (depart Dubai 27th May) diverted to Melbourne this morning due to fog at Sydney. The aircraft was later able to continue Melbourne – Sydney, however the onward flight to Auckland was cancelled and today’s EK413 will therefore operate Sydney – Dubai.

QANTAS A380 VH-OQF positioned Sydney – Melbourne late this morning as QF6006 in order to operate QF9 Melbourne – Dubai – London Heathrow. This was to cover for sister VH-OQJ’s non arrival as QF94 this morning.

Following its return to Los Angeles in the early hours of this morning, QANTAS A380 VH-OQJ departed Los Angeles again this evening operating yesterday’s delayed QF94 Los Angeles – Melbourne as QF94D.

QANTAS A380 VH-OQJ operating QF94 Los Angeles – Melbourne (depart Los Angeles 23rd May) returned to Los Angeles early this morning around four and a half hours after take off. The diversion appears to have been technical.

Emirates A380 A6-EDT positioned Dubai – Dresden for maintenance early this morning as EK3045. The aircraft descended towards Dresden but then climbed again and headed south to Munich before returning to Dresden later.

Emirates today confirmed that from October 6th 2013 the EK434/EK435 Dubai – Brisbane – Auckland service will be upgraded from Boeing 777-300ER to A380 operation. This will mean that Auckland will have three Emirates A380s on the ground at the same time each day.

QANTAS A380 VH-OQI operating QF1 Sydney – Dubai – London Heathrow (depart Sydney 11th May) terminated at Dubai this morning with the Dubai – London Heathrow sector cancelled due to a technical issue. Subsequently today’s QF2 London Heathrow – Dubai is cancelled and the aircraft will pick up the schedule operating the Dubai – Sydney sector on 13th May.

Following the technical issue it encountered at Toronto on 29th April, Airbus A380-861 MSN106, Emirates A6-EDY positioned Toronto – Dubai this afternoon as EK2002. The aircraft’s nose wheel and steering had been damaged on push back on 29th April.

QANTAS A380 VH-OQB operated QF127 Sydney – Hong Kong today then positioned Hong Kong – Manila late tonight as QF6011. QF127 was the aircraft’s final service in 14F/72J/32W/332Y configuration and the aircraft will now be reconfigured to 14F/64J/35W/371Y.
