QANTAS A380 VH-OQJ operated QF93 Melbourne – Los Angeles today, then turned around to operate yesterday’s delayed QF94 Los Angeles – Melbourne as QF94D.

QANTAS A380 VH-OQI Damaged in Los Angeles Ground Incident.

QANTAS A380 VH-OQI was under tow from the maintenance facility to the terminal at Los Angeles this evening when its wingtip struck the wingtip of a company Boeing 747-400ER. As a result the aircraft  had to be removed from service and QF94 Los Angeles – Melbourne was delayed overnight.

Emirates A380 A6-EEP Overnight Los Angeles Delay.

Emirates A380 A6-EEP operated EK215 Dubai – Los Angeles today, however the return EK216 has been delayed overnight and will operate tomorrow as EK216D. It is not clear whether this is due to a technical issue or to the fog at Dubai.

British Airways A380 G-XLEA Delayed in Maintenance.

Airbus A380-841 MSN095, British Airways G-XLEA,, which arrived into London Heathrow as BA26 from Hong Kong early this morning, was delayed in maintenance and was unable to operate the BA269/BA268 London Heathrow – Los Angeles rotation as scheduled. A Boeing 747-400 was substituted in.

QANTAS A380 VH-OQL QF2 Bahrain Diversion.

QANTAS A380 VH-OQL operating the London Heathrow – Dubai sector of QF2 London Heathrow – Dubai – Sydney (depart London 21st February) diverted via Bahrain this morning due to fog at Dubai. The complete routing was London Heathrow – Bahrain – Dubai – Sydney.

Following the technical issue it encountered yesterday, Airbus A380-861 MSN056, Emirates A6-EDN, departed Munich this afternoon operating yesterday’s delayed EK50 Munich – Dubai as EK50D.

British Airways A380 G-XLEC BA269 Keflavik Diversion.

British Airways A380 G-XLEC operating BA269 London Heathrow – Los Angeles diverted via Keflavik due to a medical emergency on board. The aircraft landed overweight but was cleared to continue after around three hours on the ground. This was the first appearance of a BA A380 at Keflavik.

British Airways Announces A380 Service to Singapore.

British Airways today announced that it will commence A380 service on the London Heathrow – Singapore route from 28th October 2014. A380s will take over the BA11/BA12 London Heathrow – Singapore rotation departing London Heathrow on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays and returning on Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays. A380 service is planned daily from February 15th.

Following the technical issue it encountered yesterday, Emirates A380 A6-EEH departed New York JFK early this morning operating yesterday’s delayed EK204 New York JFK – Dubai as EK204D.

Emirates Commences A380 Service to Barcelona.

Emirates commenced A380 operation on the Dubai – Barcelona route today with the EK185/EK186 rotation switching over from Boeing 777-300ER operation. Today’s first A380 rotation was operated by A6-EDP.
