QANTAS A380 VH-OQD operating the Dubai – Sydney sector of QF2 London Heathrow – Dubai – Sydney (depart London Heathrow 29th August and using callsign QF2D) diverted to Perth in the early hours of this morning due to a technical issue. The flight attempted to continue Perth – Sydney during the afternoon after a delay of around 13 hours but had to return to the gate.

Due to the overnight delay of yesterday’s QF2 London Heathrow – Dubai – Sydney, AIrbus A380-842 MSN026, QANTAS VH-OQD, operated tonight’s scheduled QF2 service using callsign QF2D.

Following it’s overnight delay at Melbourne on 27th August, AIrbus A380-842 MSN055, QANTAS VH-OQI, arrived into London Heathrow as QF9D from Melbourne  and Dubai this morning, then turned around to operate yesterday’s delayed QF2 London Heathrow – Dubai – Sydney using QF2 as its callsign.

Following the technical issue it encountered last night, AIrbus A380-842 MSN055, QANTAS VH-OQI, departed Melbourne this afternoon operating yesterday’s delayed QF9 Melbourne – Dubai – London Heathrow as QF9D.

British Airways A380 G-XLEH arrived into Johannesburg as BA55 from London Heathrow (depart London Heathrow 16th August) this morning, however the return BA56 has been delayed overnight due to a technical issue with the aircraft.

Emirates A380 A6-EDF, /which has been under maintenance at Abu Dhabi since 29th July, positioned Abu Dhabi – Dubai this morning as EK3772 and immediately returned to service operating EK9 Dubai – London Gatwick.

Emirates today announced that the EK404/EK405 Dubai – Singapore – Melbourne rotation will be upguaged from Boeing 777-300ER to A380 operation from 1st March 2016.

Airbus A380-861 MSN180, Etihad A6-APD, was delivered Finkenwerder – Abu Dhabi this morning as EY9009. The aircraft is in 2P/9F/70J/415Y configuration and Facets of Abu Dhabi livery. This brings the Etihad A380 fleet up to four aircraft.

QANTAS A380 VH-OQL operated QF18 Los Angeles – Sydney late tonight. No QF12 Los Angeles – Sydney was scheduled today.

Emirates A380 A6-EOM entered service this morning operating EK241 Dubai – Toronto. The aircraft is confirmed as being in 14F/76J/401Y configuration with the main deck crew rest area.
