Airbus A380-842 MSN015, QANTAS VH-OQB, operating QF93 Melbourne – Los Angeles was into its Pacific crossing this morning when it turned back to divert via Sydney due to a medical emergency on board.

Emirates A380 A6-EOU entered service this morning operating EK73 Dubai – Paris CDG. We understand the aircraft to be in 14F/76J/429Y configuration.

Following its collision with a jet bridge on 19th January, Airbus A380-841 MSN095, British Airways G-XLEA, positioned Miami – London Heathrow in the early hours of this morning as BA9179. The aircraft had been fitted with a new #1 engine cowl which was ferried to Miami aboard an AN124.

QANTAS A380 VH-OQL arrived into Dubai late this morning as the delayed QF9 from Melbourne (QF9 of 23rd January which departed this morning), then turned around to operate today’s delayed QF2 Dubai – Sydney sector.

QANTAS A380 VH-OQC arrived into Dubai this morning as QF2 from London Heathrow (depart London Heathrow 23rd January), then turned around to operate the delayed QF9 Dubai – London Heathrow.

QANTAS A380 VH-OQL London Heathrow Flight Switch.

QANTAS A380 VH-OQL arrived into London Heathrow this afternoon with a three hour delay as QF9 from Melbourne and Dubai, then turned around to operate the delayed QF10 London Heathrow – Dubai – Melbourne. This used callsign QF10D from Dubai to Melbourne.

Emirates A380 A6-EEP Takes Over EK413, Diverts via Melbourne.

Emirates A380 A6-EEP arrived into Sydney as EK414 from Dubai this evening, ed however instead of overnighting at Sydney the aircraft took over the Sydney – Dubai sector of EK413 Auckland – Sydney – Dubai, which had earlier diverted via Melbourne due to weather. There was insufficient time to fully cater A6-EEP before curfew at Sydney so it operated Sydney – Melbourne – Dubai as EK413D.

Emirates A380 A6-EDE EK413 Melbourne Diversion.

Emirates A380 A6-EDE operating the Auckland – Sydney sector of EK413 Auckland – Sydney – Dubai diverted via Melbourne this evening due to weather at Sydney. The aircraft arrived into Sydney too late to be turned around to depart before curfew and so will overnight at Sydney and operate EK415 Sydney – Dubai tomorrow.

British Airways A380 G-XLEA Miami Jet Bridge Collision.

Airbus A380-841 MSN095, British Airways G-XLEA, arriving into Miami as BA209 from London Heathrow was approaching the gate at very low speed with it struck a jet bridge with the #1 engine. As a result the return BA208 was cancelled.

QANTAS A380 VH-OQF QF12 Brisbane Diversion and Technical Issue.

QANTAS A380 VH-OQF operating QF12 Los Angeles – Sydney (depart Los Angeles 15th January) diverted to Brisbane for fuel this morning having met stronger than expected headwinds over the Pacific. The aircraft then encountered a technical issue meaning crew timed out before they could depart for Sydney. Passengers were transferred to an additional A330-200 Brisbane – Syney sector. A new crew flew VH-OQF Brisbane – Sydney empty during the afternoon.

Emirates A380 A6-EOZ made its first flight from Toulouse today wearing test registration F-WWST and positioned Toulouse – Finkenwerder.

Emirates Announce EK53/EK54 Munich A380 Upgauge.

Emirates today announced that the EK53/EK54 Dubai – Munich rotation will switch from Boeing 777-300ER to A380 operation from 1st June 2016. This will give Munich triple daily A380 service.

Emirates today announced that the EK149/EK150 Dubai – Amsterdam rotation will switch from Boeing 777-300ER to A380 operation from 1st February 2016. This will give Amsterdam double daily A380 service.
